0:05 Hey, I'm Andy, and I teach English.
0:09 Today's lesson is "I have never":
0:13 a game in the present perfect.
0:16 There is a game I have played many times in class.
0:22 We all gather in a circle.
0:25 One person in the center says, "I have never..."
0:31 Everyone who has done
0:33 what the person says switches places.
0:38 And one person ends up in the center.
0:42 I have never ended up there.
0:46 But I have learned a lot about my students.
0:53 So, why use the present perfect?
0:57 One reason is to tell people about yourself.
1:02 When do you use the present perfect?
1:06 You use it to talk about events in the past
1:10 that are still true today.
1:13 And how do you use the present perfect?
1:18 Write a subject plus "have" or "has" plus a past participle.
1:26 For example,
1:33 All right, your turn. Complete the sentences.
1:37 Click pause.
1:56 What interesting things have you done?
2:02 Next time, we will learn about the past perfect.
2:06 This is American English, and thanks for watching.
